The history of Alpha Phi Omega at Aurora State College of Technology it's all began with a small but determined group of APO Brothers individuals who believed in the power of Leadership, Friendship, and Service the core values of APO and dared to bring that vision in their home at Aurora Province.
In the middle of 1990s, Seven APO dedicated members, all affiliated with chapters from universities outside of Aurora Province, felt a deep calling to extend the reach of the organization into their own Province. All Seven proud brothers of Alpha Phi Omega understood the impact that APO could bring to local youth especially in fostering Leadership, doing Friendship and Community Service.
With this mission in mind, one of the members made a bold and strategic move: to enroll at Aurora State College of Technology, located in Brgy. Zabali Baler, Aurora Philippines, with the sole intention of establishing a future APO chapter. Their goal was clear to recruit students with good moral standing, strong academic background, and a heart for service.
The recruitment process was rigorous and held to the highest standards of the organization. Many students were interested in joining, drawn by APO’s reputation and the brotherhood and sisterhood it offered. However, due to the Standard Operating Procedure, only a few survived. Many aspirants found the journey too challenging and withdrew along the way. But those who remained were the ones who truly embodied the APO spirit.
Finally, in January 1996, after months of preparation, training, and screening, the first Seven ASCOT- based members of APO were officially inducted. These individuals stood out not only for their intelligence in academic but also for their deep commitment to APO’s Mission and Vision. They were visionary leaders, grounded in humility, and always ready to serve.
Their induction marked a turning point for APO in Aurora Province. They became the torch bearers of the APO legacy in Aurora State College of Technology, paving the way for future generations.
Years of continued service, growth, and advocacy led to a historic milestone: on May 9, 2009, Alpha Phi Omega Philippines held it's 25th Biennial National Convention in Boracay, Philippines the Aurora State College of Technology was officially recognized as Mu Rho Chapter (1217) of APO Philippines. This chartering solidified the legacy of our Seven Organizer and Seven APO ASCOT pioneers members the countless others who followed in their footsteps.
From its humble beginnings in 1996 born out of mission & vision, courage, and sacrifice, Mu Rho Chapter has grown into a pillar of leadership and volunteerism in Baler and the greater Aurora region. It has since become known for its active participation in civic, environmental, educational, and humanitarian initiatives, staying true to the principles of Alpha Phi Omega.
Through decades of change, Mu Rho remains steadfast in its purpose: To Develop Leaders. To Foster Friendships. To Render Service.
