The history of Alpha Phi Omega at Aurora State College of Technology it's all began with a small but determined group of APO Brothers individuals who believed in the power of Leadership, Friendship, and Service the core values of APO and dared to bring that vision in their home town. In the middle of 1990s, Seven APO dedicated members all affiliated with chapters from universities outside the Province, felt a deep calling to extend the reach of the organization into their own Province. All Seven proud brothers of Alpha Phi Omega understood the impact that APO could bring to local youth especially in fostering Leadership, doing Friendship and Community Service. With this mission in mind one of the members made a bold and strategic move: to enroll at Aurora State College of Technology located in Brgy. Zabali Baler, Aurora Philippines with the sole intention of establishing a future APO chapter.
Their goal was clear to recruit students with good moral standing record, strong academic background and a heart for service. The recruitment process was rigorous and held to the highest standards of the organization. Many students were interested in joining, drawn by APO’s reputation and the brotherhood and sisterhood it offered. However, due to the Standard Operating Procedure only a few survived. Many aspirants found the journey too challenging and they withdrew along the way. Finally, in January 1996 after months of preparation, training, and screening. The first Seven ASCOT- based members of APO those who remained were the ones who truly embodied the APO spirit were officially inducted. These individuals stood out not only for their intelligence in academic but also for their deep commitment to APO’s Mission and Vision. They were visionary leaders, grounded in humility, and always ready to serve. Their induction marked a turning point for APO in Aurora Province. They became the torch bearers of the APO legacy in Aurora State College of Technology, paving the way for future generations.
Years of continued in service, growth and advocacy led to a historic milestone on May 9, 2009 Alpha Phi Omega Philippines held it's 25th Biennial National Convention in Boracay, Philippines the Aurora State College of Technology was officially recognized as Mu Rho Chapter (1217) of APO Philippines. This chartering solidified the legacy of our Seven Organizer, Seven Pioneers Members and Set of Residents Officers SY: 2008-2009 through the initiative of our beloved Brothers Bro. Paul B. Lid-ayan (Grand Chancelor) and Bro. Jayson D. Andes (Prime Chancelor) who did their best for this great achievment and recognition.
From its humble beginnings in 1996 born out of mission & vision, courage, and sacrifice, Mu Rho Chapter has grown into a pillar of leadership and volunteerism in Baler and the greater Aurora region. It has since become known for its active participation in civic, environmental, educational, and humanitarian initiatives, staying true to the principles of Alpha Phi Omega. Through decades of change, Mu Rho remains steadfast in its purpose: To Develope Leaders. To Foster Friendships. To Render Service.
Simply put APO is the better choice among other Greek fraternities and sororities on the different campuses in the Philippines today. We believe that the quality of experience of being a member of APO is more rewarding than joining other fraternities or sororities. While these groups do “philanthropies” infrequently, APO is proud of the regularity and worthwhileness of its scheduled service projects.

But what is Alpha Phi Omega? Alpha Phi Omega is an international fraternity/sorority, with chapters in universities, colleges and campuses all over the Philippines and in the United States of America. You’re joining more than just a campus club. You’re joining a family, a brotherhood of young men and women committed to doing their part to help others and living lives guided by the principles of Leadership, Friendship, and Service. Originally founded to be a way for all scouts to continue their service in college, APO has grown to accommodate students from every background who are interested in service.
Alpha Phi Omega is the single most representative undergraduate intercollegiate organization in the United States of America and in the Republic of the Philippines. We take pride in this and want to be even larger. We determine to be larger only because, if what we are and what we represent are important and useful to students, then we should share what we have in order to further our common goals more effectively. We want to share with colleges and universities all across this great land the benefits that Alpha Phi Omega gives to students, their campuses and their communities.
Pledging/Joining is all about getting to know Alpha Phi Omega and letting the members get to know the pledges. Everything done during the pledge process is designed to help prospective members learn about the fraternity so they can determine if Alpha Phi Omega is the place for them. Each chapter adheres to the APO Pledge Program (APP) which includes participation in leadership, fellowship and service activities.

Graduation is not the end of your Alpha Phi Omega journey it is the beginning of a lifelong commitment. Alpha Phi Omega - Mu Rho Alumni Association exists to ensure that the bonds formed during your collegiate years continue to grow. Whether you wish to mentor undergraduate members, organize regional service drives, or expand your professional network, Mu Rho Alumni Association provides the platform to make a meaningful impact in Leadership. Friendship. Service for Life.
Mu Rho Alumni Association (MRAA) unites alumni members. Bound by our cardinal principles of Leadership, Friendship, and Service, the association serves as a lifelong bridge between graduated brothers and sisters, the collegiate chapter, and the broader community. Through structured mentorship, community development projects, and professional networking, MRAA empowers members to carry the spirit of service beyond campus borders into their professional and personal lives
Mu Rho Chapter Alumni Brothers and Sisters dream to establish, strengthen, and eventually gain official recognition for Mu Rho Alumni Association-MRAA. What began as a vision among alumni was rooted in a simple but meaningful purpose: to keep the bond of brotherhood and sisterhood alive beyond college, to reconnect fellow alumni, to serve the community, to preserve the ideals and traditions of the Alpha Phi Omega family.
The dream gained renewed momentum in the year 2020 through the initiative of Brother Kimar Sanchez - Mu Rho Alumni President together with the dedicated members of Mu Rho Alumni Association. Under his leadership, the officers and members took the important step of working toward the requirements and documentation needed for the official recognition of the Mu Rho Alumni Association. Their initiative marked a significant chapter in the journey. The work involved gathering the necessary requirements, organizing documents, coordinating with concerned APO leaders and laying the foundation for the association's eventual recognition. It was through the commitment and perseverance of Bro. Kimar Sanchez and the members who supported the initiative that the dream envisioned years earlier continued to move closer to reality.
On April 15, 2024, the APO Philippines National Board of Trustees, during its Special Meeting conducted via Zoom Teleconferencing, formally approved the chartering and recognition of the APO Mu Rho Alumni Association as a Basic Organizational Unit (BOU) under Region 3 Central Luzon. This historic recognition transformed the long-held dream of the Mu Rho alumni into an officially recognized organization within the APO Philippines structure.
